Today our condo is supposed to have its quarterly pest preventative. We ate
breakfast and then spent an hour or so clearing off counters, spaces, wall bases
etc for them to apply whatever anti-cockroach remedy that they had.
We figured Wailea was the agenda again today. The kids never got the
chance to snorkel it yesterday and we wanted them to have that today. So
yesterday's missing masks went into the bag and off to the beach we went only to
discover once we unpacked, that they also removed their snorkel/mask clips from
the beach bag and daddy would have to return to the condo. It gave the kids
some beach and ocean time though before we went snorkeling.
With the late start
to the day , and dad having to go back, by the time he returned the red and
yellow flag indicating to precede into the water with caution was out. Proceed
we did. The surface was rough and choppy. The water pretty stirred up with a
lower visibility. We still kept at it for about an hour, half of which I was
sure Miss Cam was going to drown me through. As she rides my back, she would
push me down into the water every time a large swell would come up, dunking my
snorkel. Less than pleasant but we made it through and saw some neat fish and a
couple turtles.
Then it was home for lunch and a trip to the pool. It was a frustrating
trip though. The pool manager is very rule oriented and not afraid to wreck
someone's vacation. Some employees get their way across while being pleasant,
she comes across over bearing and rude. Cammie got kids out of the hot tube
because they have a rule that no kid under 5 (or incontinent adults) are allowed
in the family hot tub. They do have a separate adult only hot tub, but not
little ones allowed in it ever, and so Cammie was removed. Not a biggie,
whatever, we just went back in the pool. Once the kids had enough swim time
and we headed back to the condo, daddy decided he would hit the gym for his
workout. He came back to the condo about 20 minutes later because he was kicked
out of it. Apparently he isn't allowed to work out with out his shirt on. Even
though he had a shirt with him, she wouldn't let him wear it either because it
wasn't proper workout attire. The other people in the gym assured the manager
his toplessness did not offend them but she was adamant so home he came.
Strange that anyone can be topless on the other side of the glass gym next to
the pool but once on that side of the glass the lack of the shirt becomes so
offensive as to be grounds for removal.
Bobby had his birthday cake today. We bought it yesterday at Costco but it go to late to actually blow the candles out and dig into it, so today was cake time!
Supper was a quick affair of corndogs. A treat the kids never get for a
variety of reasons. A quiet night was decided upon and so we went out to rent a
couple movies to relax too. Then discovered a favorite, Remember the Titans
was on TV and needed to be watched first. Love that movie and it didn't
disappoint again.
