Happy Birthday to Sydney! My little squid is turning 8 years old today.
It's amazing how much life has changed and grown since we brought her home to
our little apartment in rundle.
Top of my mind this morning was my iPhone. I was hoping now that it was
fully changed my home button would miraculously be working again and life would
be good. Not that I would mind having to upgrade to the new iphone 5 that came
out this week, but it's a little sooner than I would want to do that. I picked
up my phone and almost burned my hands on the bottom of it. It was so hot. Not
a good sign at all. I looked at the plug in cord and it was even melted a bit
on the top. I pulled out the cord, gingerly as it was very hot, and looked at
my docking station at the bottom of my phone. Black. This is not looking good.
I switched cords and plugged it in hoping it will still charge....
It being a birthday day here, I ran up the street to Foodland to pick up
some more syrup so we could make pancakes this morning for my birthday girl.
When I came back, my phone was still dead. It did turn on to show me the
"charge me" screen so I am hoping there is some hope that it can be repaired.
I'm thinking of all those pictures on the phone that I have taken and really
don't want them lost. A call into and back from an apple advisor says the only
thing I can do is to put it away until we are home, try connecting it to a
computer and hope that it works. At this pointmiam having my doubts. :(
We had plans to run in to Lahaina and meet up with our neice for a visit.
It was great to see her again and we enjoyed a lovely visit learning all about
h ow the first couple weeks she has been settling in have gone. The kids met
their next door neighbor that had two kids Brooklyn and Cammie's age and they
colored and played while we chatted. They suggested we try Sure Thing Burger
just up the road and so we went there for supper. The burgers were excellent and
the kids asked us to place a second order to fill them up.
At home again the kids were eager to hit the pool for a swim in the dark.
It gives me a chance to check emails and Facebook as well so we headed in that
direction. Brooklyn picked up a grade two activity book from Brain Quest at
Costco and was determined she was going to do some pages at the pool. When we
got home she did a couple more. She was pretty impressed with her self and eye
100% score she got on the work she did.
We tucked the kids into bed and put on a movie. It happened to be a Jm
Carrey flick called I love you Phillip Morris. Now it's bed time as tomorrow
I'm sure will be busy once again.
