Day 12 Sept 16

Sunday Sept 16

Up bright and early today, wondering how we will be getting in touch with Shan and Ana. I headed over to our wifi spot by the pool and checked my email and Facebook, hoping there would be a message from her, and there was!

Grant and I headed over to her unit to wish her a happy Aloha and good morning. They had an exhausting time getting to the island complete with an unexpected layover and a three hour delay, so we're quite happy for a quiet night to just crash. We gave her directions to Wailea and planned to meet her there.

The swells were a rolling in when we got  here though, and the yellow and red flag flying let us know it probably wasn't going to be a great snorkel day. Regardless, we got in the water and went for a swim around to turtle town. We didn't have much more luck in finding many turtles but a couple of them graced us with their presence. We were lucky to see them at all as the swells were really reducing the visibility. Swimming back in, I didn't even see the bright red Spanish dancer until she was dancing around in front of my face. She was glorious, flapping and swimming away with her skirt a blazing. She was a first for me and I was really cursing my camera that decided not to work at that moment.

The kids were enjoying the big waves with their boogie boards. They were riding away on them having a great time. Some of the swells were way over their heads but they were loving the motion of the ocean. They also absolutely love Ana and her endless patience with their antics. Brook and Syd especially idolize her and have so much fun.
Hubby's daily workout.

We headed back to our condo afterwards for visits, weekly planning, a bit o'rum drinks and then a trip to the pool. It was cut short by the horrible pool manager. Cam was enjoying a soak in the hot tub with us before she came and kicked her out again. She left the pool, walking with her head low, dragging her arms and then burst into tears. We packed up and left, the mood was spoiled.

We talked up the Costco ice Cream and the supper there, so we all headed into Kahului for supper and some groceries, then we showed the girls where Safeway was before we rented the kids a couple movies and went back to the hotel for more visiting and drinks.

Eventually they had to head back to their condo but tomorrow is another day. Nothing spices up the day like great friends.
